I'm just gonna throw this out there. At least I had a lot of fun watching Transformers, despite all it's flaws. I can't say the same thing for Spider-man 3.
Also, I'm not making excuses for it. I know a ton of people thought Transformers was dumb, but I liked it. I'm an effects artist by trade, an extremely avid 80's Transformers fan, and I am usually able to find something enjoyable in most movies. So all that combined might be a reason why I liked it.
A few other things that are uncool about me... I still think Titanic, LOTR, and Pirates 2 (haven't seen 3), were good movies.

very much agreed, except for Titanic Wink as per Pirates 3, consider yourself lucky.

Barbarella is what I heard too, but I thought Sin City 2 was also moving along. Anyone follow these details?

RR's IMDB page has Sin City 2 and 3 listed along with Machete. what's odd is that SC3 is listed as in production with an '08 release whereas SC2 is in pre-production with an '09 release.

hey GageFX, what's the Rose McGowen thing?

I think he was referring to the whole rumor that He left his wife for Rose McGowan, which I've heard is actually not the real story.

Universal Studios has backed out of backing the movie, whose budget the source pegged at nearly $100 million, because Mr. Rodriguez has insisted on casting his new fiancé, Rose McGowan, in the lead role.

This news has come out after I posted what I did. I have to say that my favorite quote regarding Barbarella is: "Robert Rodriguez's penis is a horrible casting director." I have to agree.

Again, like I said, I obviously dont know the details of the situation, and it's highly possible that there were problems for years with his wife and they were seperating anyway and Rose just happened to be there and it could have been anyone. It just looks skeezy. And while I'm all for banging hot actresses, I'm much for for common decency.

Easy Tektor. Now I have to go back and find out what I did you upset you so. There must be something. But really, relax. It will all be okay, and if you dont like my discussions, it sounded like you figured out you can just skip my posts. I dont think you DO, but you can. One thing I am absolutely sure of - you can ignore me and easily not miss anything important. I tend to ignore my rambling also.

Apologies to the original poster. I found what it was. It was this:

Quote:
I, for one, would think this idea would be way hokey and almost a joke:

We could all do shorts about how the guid has changed the lives of those it has come in contact with.

No offense to the idea or poster, it is one more idea than I have presented, I just dont like it.

Which was then followed by a an attack from Tektor which resulted in a few posts in the thread that we (I thought) had worked out in PMs so we deleted our posts. Apparently someone has held a grudge.

All I can say is get over it. Life is too short to hold grudges with people online that you have never met. Now the guys last night - they have every reason to hate me.

I feel fine. It's called a joke.

Again, apologies to the OP. Let's try to get back on topic.

no I didn't hear that, what I read was that when the cops raided his Las Vegas warehouse their were millions in cash taken away. and this was linked to that story of a charter boat going to Nassau that the crew were killed and the "survivors" claimed it was pirates, but one of them turned out to be a guy that walked out of Walmart with (I think) close to $100,000.

I was thinking WHAT A MOVIE! but it's just not believable.

It's probably end up as a mini-series.

Back to PT, I think it is sold out everywhere in LA. Every day I have stopped at various stores and no one has it. Strange.

I did get Transformers on Tuesday, (back off of PT apparently) and watched it, and again, I was reminded it is the worst movie ever made. NOW, today, I'm watching the special features, and I have to say that Michael Bay is my new hero. I have now determined that if I have to make sh!t movies to have the fun he has - bring it on.

To Shia LeBouf who is standing by his toes on the edge of a high-rise downtown:

"...no no no.... we're showing that it's you and we're showing that there's no platform. If we were just doing closeups, we can do that anywhere. That's lame."

Indeed.

Wish his movies were better, though.

The extras on Transformers are pretty nice indeed. I love that the part where they talk about the CG stuff, they aren't saying the same old "this is how cg works. you start with geometry...blah blah blah". They actually talk about the challenges as if they are talking to other CG people. They talk about lighting the cg to match the car paint and how they had x number animation controls. something like 10,000 for Optimus. I may not ever want to work for ILM's little sweat shop for animators, but they do come up with some impressive work from time to time.
PT was almost sold out at Best Buy on Tuesday. I had to go to another area where they had them on a table, cause the racks were cleared out. and I'm in the Chicago suburbs.
