Replacing clips in AE
Hey guys... another question.
I've got a pretty good process in place to avoid re-compression. I'm editing low res clips and then replacing them with the full resolution raw capture clips during the online process in AE. But one problem remains.
When I pull the full resolution clips into AE, I interpret them to remove pulldown (to convert from 60i to 24P). Which works great at first. If I just create a new composition from one of those clips, it has no field artifacts whatsoever and looks fantastic. BUT as soon as I alt-drag the interpreted, full resolution clip over the low-res clip to replace it in the master composition, BOOM--the fields come back. It's like AE forgets that it was doing the pulldown removal at all. In the project window it still lists them as having pulldown removal applied, but there are clear field artifacts in the composition window that weren't there before.
