Back in the good ol' days of cheap SF movies, there was a massive prop that not only was used more than once -- it got billing in the ads. It was a 2-story tall machine originally called the "Bevatron." It later became "The Magnetic Monster."
There is absolutely nothing wrong with reusing props. Do you think that every Western required the purchase of new six-guns?

Lol... I love teal and orange! It's like, warm and cold in the same image... cold winter landscape - candlelight coming out of a window. Warm naked bodies making love, candlelight from one side, moonlight from the other... cliché, I know, but hotddamit, I like it.
EDIT: Lol, I just read one of the replies over at cracked.com... "colour correction is awful"... lol. That's like, "lighting sucks". "I don't like dollies".

WTF! That Star Trek/Coneheads explosion is totally not remotely the same! Are they blind? Sure, both have "a shock wave in space", but all likeness ends there. It's not even the same angle.
