AE 4.1 worth fooling with?
I came across a nearly free copy of After Effects 4.1 and figured why not try it out, get my feet wet and familiarize myself with the program before investing in a current version. But nothing about it looks or seems to work like later versions I've seen demonstrated. Good idea or not?
It came with it's original disk jacket but no user guides or instructions, so I'm having to feel my way through it. Also not sure it's completely compatible with my current OS.
Any advice?

Thanks for the comment. It took me about 10 minutes fooling around in AE 4.1 to figure out it was a total waste of time. I took your advice and downloaded a 30 trial of AE CS5 and am in hog heaven. Thanks to the free tutorials at Video Copilot, I was able to start working comfortably in AE within a few hours. Amazing stuff. Don't know why I put it off for so long. When my 30 day trial is up I plan to buy Adobe's full premium package.
