Super 8

Did you guys see Super 8? I think the gang of kids making the super 8 film of the title have read the guide and maybe watched a few Rodriguez cooking schools.
It was neat to see them making a movie...
They play the zombie movie they made over the credits so stay to the end. The funny thing is the actors all have to act badly for the zombie movie...

The philosophical stage for their duel was set earlier in the afternoon, during a class trip to the Griffith Park Observatory. The subject is "The End of Man," and the lecturer happily describes the sun growing larger until it explodes and wipes out all traces of mankind.

"The Earth will not be missed," the lecturer informs the students. "Through the infinite reaches of space, the problems of man seem trivial and naive indeed, and man existing alone seems himself an episode of little consequence." This is not the note of optimism they require.
