How far have we come in the space of five years.... wow. I remember back when I was looking at purchasing the HV20, having very little knowledge about anything to do with the technical aspects of filmmaking technology.

Ha yes indeed - I remember how excited I was to shoot 1080P at 24 for less than $900 - crappy HDV codec and all. And by the standards of the time it was pretty amazing. It's even more amazing just how fast the technology is changing, now 12 year olds think nothing of shooting and editing 1080P at 24 in iMovie. Ha!

Whenever I think about my HV20 I still get a warm feeling
Ah... HV20. I still think Stu's 'Taming the Toy' Prolost post sits at the top of my all-time favorite posts list. It all just seemed too good to be true at the time. From that post on, I knew I just had to get into lenses and pick up this camera to take my footage to the next level. So glad I did, and the proof was in the pudding- the feature link in my signature was all shot on the HV20/Redrock M2 setup I bought soon after reading that post. And I think it holds up really well three years on.
