I completed an expansion of a kids-movie short script to a feature-length script. I've connected with a UPM here in Tucson who knows a zillion actors, and will be putting together a table read to make sure it plays... preferably with money people in attendance (or connectors to money people). The short version "works." I think this longer one will too, but it's a pacing thing and I want to be sure before moving on to Step Two.

The story is titled THE USUAL QUEST. It's about quest stories while it is one.

The only way I could make this with Rodriguez money is to find a collection of digital art/animation amateurs and recruit them -- each for a different piece of the animation/background action.

**

I have a couple of other screenplays lurching forward in fits and starts.
The lawsuit against the insurance company that refused to pay off my burglary is progressing slowly.

Good luck with the script, jleo!

While in Hollywood, you can look up Gage. Tell him to stop by sometime!

Thanks Jamie. Yes, long time no Gage. He is missed. Hmm. Just past Ramage St and Santa Monica Blvd.! LA Filmfest jus wrapped up.

Paul.

Wreckamovie.com is one way to recruit animators or other artists and techies worldwide to work on a movie. The projects range from student films to features ( no budget and up). Even if the movie gets financing, requests can be made to submit ideas to video footage, etc. Edison and Leo was one animated feature I saw on there. Some filmmakers also use the Video Copilot forum to look for animators.

Good Luck!

( I am not affiliated with Wreckamovie or Videocopilot!!)

I've been working on my "Day job", while trying to finish the post production of a film I shot 2 years ago. It's been a long process, which I can't wait to end. Hopefully this year it will be completed.

"Success" to all of those who are also starting and finishing projects!!!

I'm about to begin pre-production on a short that I plan to shoot in October. I have several other scripts that are nearing completion as well, one of which is a webseries that will be my next project after my short in Oct.

Excellent, Tazer! Let us know if we can help!

Unfortunately Gage's pilot did not make its Kickstarter goal, but he did raise over $30k and is now asking all who pledged to Paypal a donation for their startup capital. He apparently has some backers willing to put up a large portion of the budget, but he needs startup funds now to get preproduction such as fight training started while the contracts are worked out.

Check it out a riventv.com!
