GH1 720 60p and 180 24p on the same memory card? |
|
Sorry for the late notice, but I'm shooting tonight and I need slow motion.
Do I need two separate memory cards for the two separate settings (60p/ 24p)
Thank you!
Trey

No. The 720p goes in the DCIM folder, and 1080p in the STREAM folder automatically.

Okay. I shot in both 720 and 1080 last night - no problems. Now I'm trying to log and transfer and everything that I filmed at 720 is not opening in my FCP 6.0.6 log and transfer window. The 1080 stuff is all there like it normally is though. Does anybody know how to fix this?

I've managed to get the 720p footage into FCP (6.0.6) by using MPEG STREAMCLIP. However the footage is not totally smooth. I'm going to try dropping it in some different timelines as it's on a 1080 24p timeline at the moment. I'm not sure if that makes a difference though. So if that doesn't work I'm going to dig around the internet some more. All I want for Christmas is really nice slooow motion. I'm seeing more and more the value of cameras with high frame rate$.
To be continued...

Cinema tools works beautifully for the 60 to 24p conversion. Be sure to make a backup as it is a permanent change (unless you want to play with Stu's way cool conversion percentages from the ProLost blog ).

Yeah, I've used the speed controls in FCP, but after using Cinema Tools this time (for the first time) I don't think I'll be able to go back;)
Things are good at the moment.
