What are some of the preferred audio solutions for the T2i? I've seen the juicedlink/ shotgun mic combo, but there is no way to monitor this set up outside of cumbersome work arounds. It looks to me like double system is truly the way to go.

Also in regards to the low light performance. If it's anything like the 7D or the Mark II in low light then everything should be kosher. I watched the great 2010 DSLR shootout and the 7D and Mark II were outperforming FILM cameras in low light!

As we all know the T2i is difficult to find right now (depending on where you shop). Personally at this point I'm comfortable with only a select few spots; of which happen to be currently sold out. What is the consensus on picking one up off ebay?
Yay or nay???

I say go for it, but check out the seller's rating first. Also, watch out for the Kiss, which is the Japanese version. They say the menus are Japanese and English, but I don't trust it...

Thank you, El Director. Now I've got this whole GH1 hack to factor into my decision. Things are changing so quickly right now!

Does the 550D accept all standard Canon SLR lenses? I already have several good lenses laying around that I used with my old Canon 35mm SLR film cameras.

Post SD cards for the T2i? Reply with quote
Christmas came early for me this year . . . . Just got my T2i!!!! Haven't shot video with it yet, but the stills are awesome!!
Owner's manual says use a class 6 or higher card for video, and also says you can record 49 mins. of 1920 x 1080 on a 16GB card.

Can anyone suggest the best SD card to use?

Also, any recommendations for a reasonably priced (cheap) wide-angle lens for video work?

Hi, Matt,

I have used the Transcend class 6 cards with good success in a GH13. My bulletproof choice for SDHC cards is the Sandisk class 10.

For the GH13 I have found class 4 cards work well for 98% of the shooting I do. Just avoid wide angle grass and trees on windy days!

As far as wide lenses, the old adage applies: fast, cheap, good, pick 2. Check out some of the other brands, like Tascam and Sigma. Do your research, of course, but some of them are very nice, and cheap compared to comparable Canon models. I love my Tokina 11-16!

If all else fails, Santa might be a good source. Smile
