This has been going on for a few weeks now and I haven't seen a post here... so:

Artbeats are offering up a "daily free clip" each day for download - there's some crap in there, but it's worth a look in case there's something that you know you'll use someday - and because it's free (you do have to register though)

The clips are available on 1080p, NTSC and PAL resolutions too.
They also have clips on sale as well (never realized how expensive the normal prices were!) for those with the $$ who want to get spending or net a deal.

They used to offer a free clip with their weekly/monthly (can't remember the frequency) newsletter, but this has taken over.

...and to the cynics: No, I don't work for Artbeats - just sharing the love amongst the rebel community Smile

Yeah, it's been great. Since I first saw this post, I've amassed a really great collection of stock stuff. Have used a bunch of them on commercial jobs. Really handy. Now it's switched to 'clip of the week' rather than 'clip of the day'. Back when I first heard about it, I would forget every second day, so I set it to my home page. Worked a treat. Now it's only weekly and I'm in the habit of checking it, I'm not so stressed. I would definitely recommend signing up to everyone who hasn't though. You never know when you'll use this stuff Very Happy

NZ's a pretty small place (only 4 million people here), so it may be pretty tough to walk into something. Most people get jobs in that field from networking, to be honest.
Still it'll be easy for ya - the legal drinking age over here is only 18, so visit some cool bars and meet people Smile
