Old Die Hard remake - by a kid?
Hey all,
I remember a story on AICN about a kid, 12 years or so, who was so in love with Die Hard he remade the whole movie on video. It was propably not long after it came out, early 90'es or so.
It got some buzz recently, not because it was good as such, but because it was obviously a product of love, and this little kid actually made a whole feature length film, a process in which he must have learned tons. (compare that to the oft-quoted admiration on this site, about people who ACTUALLY SHOOT STUFF AND MAKES A MOVIE, as compared to all the other schumcks like me who talk and talk and talk and never DO). I also believe there was a story that when "Mclane" kisses "Holly", it was actually the kid's first kiss. (queue "aww", but with awesomeness)
Anyway, at the time I read it, I thought - sweet, awesome, incredible, but I don't really feel like seeing 2 hours of badly acting kids on homevideo, so I'll just admire the FACT of what they did.
But seeing Die Hard again recently (on the big screen, yay) I've gotten more and more curious about how these kids pulled it off.
So.... anyone know where I can see it?
I've googled high and low for "Die Hard remake", but all I find are new, digital remakes of Die Hard clips (like the one posted here once), and people who re-enact Die Hard scenes in games like GTA, and then a lot of people who bitch about how Die Hard should never be remade...
Any help would be appreciated.

Wrong movie. It was a shot-for-shot remake of "Raiders of the Lost Ark."

There's also the whole movie in a thread called "raiders of the lost ark part [x]", but that's not it...

Yeah, I met two of the three guys involved in that earlier this year and attended a screening of their film. An awesome feat for a group of kids, especially when you consider that they did it in the days before pre-recorded videos were commonplace. They didn't have a VHS of Raiders to watch. They had to recall what they had seen at the theatre. The guys are in their late 20's/early 30's now. But Eli Roth got hold of a copy a few years back and got it to Spielberg, who was so impressed he invited them to his house.
There is now a movie deal in the works that will tell the story of them making the film.
