I don't know about you guys, but those grabs from Stu's new film look awesome (the first one in particular).

Does anybody else besides me want to know how he graded this shot?

I'm going to guess Colorista.

Stu created a very similar look for the shots in this post. He also gives the exact Colorista setting he used to achieve it.

I mentioned in the Stunt People blog post that I used Colorista to (hastily) color correct the dailies.

BTW, I absolutely LOVE the fact that while Stu could march himself over to a $500k suite in The Orphanage to CC his own work, he instead chooses to use the same tools I have on my computer. That gives me no excuses. It's a great inspiration. (Now if only I can get to be as good as him.) Rolling Eyes

Heh, that's awesome. I might do the final color in that $500K suite though. Or not!

I don't know if you guys read pro video coalition but in their story "what's missing from AE" the Rebel Tools get mentioned (and before Colorista)

Can colorista restore the out of range blacks & whites in 5D footage in a FCP timeline? So far the only thing I've found that works for that is Color but it would be nice to have an option that didn't require leaving FCP.

edit: just tried with the demo and the answer is no... there's a market there, Stu, if you can make this work...

Did you read this? No idea if this will help in your case, but worth trying.

A plug-in won't be able to solve that one, but converting to pro-res would. The missing values will return if you online in AE as well.
