since red's gonna be releasing specs of the scarlet on the 13th of november, i expect likonoskop to release some eagerly anticipated footage that day or the day after to try to steal some of its thunder.

can't wait. Very Happy

Ikonoskop has forums up now. And in a post Viktor stated that there will be footage in November. This makes me happy.

Footage will be nice to see, even though it's way out of my price range.

I put in a request for DNG samples, but not sure if that'll come to anything.

That's a good idea. I always find it much more useful for the end user to see how the "raw" footage works for them as opposed to what one guy somewhere was able to do with it. I'm sure you'll keep us informed.

Absolutely. I'd love to work out the workflow for this and see how my PC handles it.

call me an idiot, but im not really impressed...and is it my computer or are the clips all under 5 sec?

as stu would say, this doesnt stimulate me on an emotional level.

i need to see more slo mo shots with finger picked guitar music on top to want to buy this.

I need to see a subway short.

I'm with you, Adam. I just felt "meh", and then I thought "Was that clip actually only 2 seconds long???"

But they are the first releases. I'm sure we'll see more.

Edit: I'm adding this last part just to be clear. I'm not saying that the HMC footage is so fantastic and this is just boring in comparison, I'm saying that 1st the camera is WAY out of my price range and desireable feature range that I see nothing so fantastic about this footage that would cause me to say "I MUST save up my money for this camera." It's just " Oh... okay, well the camera I'm not interested in makes nice footage." Make sense?

Dude, not while I'm drinking coffee! These Mac USB keyboards are white, you know. Or mine was anyway.

I'm making t-shirts.

Really, the only camera that has done that to me lately is the mark ii. I know its not 24p and its got other video problems, but that footage just blew me away and changed my expectations of what I want. i need a good still cam anyway so maybe i can combine the 2 interests after i get the hmc....ill be finding out about that next week...fingers crossed.

Good one, Gage. Forget charts, subway shorts should be the de facto test shoot for all new cameras. Or maybe not:

A little more footage. Still not more than a couple seconds, but looking decent.
