What is the aspect ratio if you intend to go anomorphic (like 16:9)? And what was your workflow for cropping your footage after capturing?
The aspect ratio is 2.39:1, though I have to admit I just eyeballed it for the web release.
Cropping was just a simple use of the "pan/crop tool" in vegas on each clip, and then setting the project settings to match.

While I wait patiently for the audio answer, I was wondering, will you be shooting anything in the hdv 24p mode anytime soon? What are your favorite settings for the hv30? I'm really curious to know. Thanks for being so generous with the information.

I did shoot in hdv 24p mode. I don't have favorite settings... as long as the shutter is set to 1/60, the rest changes.

Hey great short man. I loved the look and the CC was fantastic. I also have a HV20 and recently have shot shot footage with the HDV 24p setting with the 48 shutter. The problem im having is once i import it and start to edit it im getting ghosting almost blended frames. I was wondering what you used to import your vide and edit it so you didnt get the blended frames ar jitter. thanks.

Did you remove the pulldown first?

Yea i used Aspect HD for Adobe Premiere Pro wich autimaticly is supposed to remove the pulldown and has its own setting for the HV20

Baking film stock

Hey, I'm reasonably new on these forums and was a bit confused about your statement above. Why was the CC process you used like baking film stock? From a quick google, it seems baking film stock was done to modify the contrast so was wondering how this related to what you did in post?

I wasn't directly comparing -- only that my process is experimental and can seem like the long way around.

I have my Dell 1920x1200 24" screen, and a second 27" LCD TV hooked up via dvi. In the end everyone's Television/PC/LCD/PLASMA is set up so differently, that I gave up on getting too uptight with the "correct" preview, and just made sure it looked good on my tv's and then hopefully it would stand up on other people's set ups. If the film works it works, and it'll still work even if its a bit darker on this screen, or less contrasty on another. There was a lot of eye-balling on my part.
What i'm trying to say in my long-winded way is... that i'm lazy.

Well done, Ayz. I am planning to pick up an HV30 or HF10/HF11, and I was wondering about focus. Were you able to change focus manually, or did you autofocus? Also, I'm very interested in your audio setup, like others here. I've been considering a Juicedlink device that has XLR ports.

I focused manually using the LCD. Was a little tough, but seemed to be okay for the most part.
I have to admit, I've been a bit slack about the audio stuff. Will try and call my guy in the next couple of days.
