Ign'ance rearin' it's ugly head
I just watched "The Illusionist." Very cool. But...
The flick is fraught with vignettes. For a period piece like "TI", maybe, but for an action flick?
I notice that "New Vignette" is a selection on the the DRG tool palette. I admit, I'm in the middle of chapter 4, and so haven't reached the part where it's explained why vignettes are cool (assuming that Jeff didn't just add it because he's a vignette freak). Am I going to be convinced or are vignettes weak in the modern film world? What's the draw?

whatever freakish qualities there are in creating vignettes, all i did was just make it "push button easy" (read: wrap stu's techniques in a script). hmm, does that make me an enabler?
